Avery's 3rd Birthday Party

Avery originally told me she wanted a Dora birthday party (for the 2 months leading up to her birthday.) So I bought a bunch of Dora stuff and then the week of she tells me she wants a princess party. Figures. So, we did a combination party. Several friends and her grandparents joined us for her party. Later the rest of the family came over for pizza and more cake.
Warning: Lots of pictures here

Avery and her Cinderella and Dora princess cakes.

Penny and Cailyn were the first to arrive and the three girls ran around chasing each other for a good 10 minutes, screaming at the top of their lungs like only girls can do.

Evan joined in, although his screaming was more squealing than screaming.

Once the boys arrived and all the kids had a chance to thoroughly explore the toys in the play room, it was time for some organized activities.
First up, "Pin the Bracelett on Dora."
I had no bandana so I had to use a scarf...it was huge on the kids!

Next, a game by Grandma Suver. Bugs (fake) were hidden around the playroom
and all the kids were given a net to catch the bugs in. They had a great time.

The birthday girl and her bugs.

Boys, babies and beer.

Group shot. This was the best one, and still no one was looking at the camera.
(I love Evan's grandpa pants. They are practically up to his neck in this picture.)

Present time! C.J. was very eager to help Avery. I am not sure she welcomed the help.

Oooo, Snow White....the princess collection is half way complete now!

Avery also received a bunch of dress up clothes from her grandmothers.
Here she is as Cinderella. The crown was a gift from C.J. and Chance.

The girls could not resist dressing up and having their pictures taken.
They even did a princess parade. (I failed to take pictures) They were adorable.
The boys played with their bugs.

Time for cake! But not this one, this one was for later.

This one will feed the troops.

Besides, Avery had already declared prior to the party that Cinderella was all hers.
(She shared it later that evening, but I let her think it was all hers for awhile.)

Three, the age when blowing out candles on the cake is fun
and the child actually does it herself.

After cake the rain finally subsided
and we headed outside for a pinata.
CUTIE ALERT!!!!

Needless to say, none of the kids broke the pinata with the stick.
There was some adult intervention on this one.
But despite their lack of pinanta demolishing abilities, Avery and C.J. both said it was their favorite part of the party.

Here comes the candy!

The men and their kill: a rainbow colored miniature donkey.

More presents when the rest of the extended family joined us.
More princess stuff and an Ariel doll, perhaps her most favorite princess right now.

Cousin Tyler even played princesses with her. She loved it.

And finally, her Cinderella cake!!!
And more candles to blow out. She has become a pro at this candle thing.
