CHRISTMAS

CHRISTMAS DAY 2009
Here is Avery and Matt coming downstairs in the morning. For once Evan slept in. Of course, Avery did not, so that meant we did not either. She knew Santa had come and could not wait to see what he had brought her. (She had requested every toy, and anything that looked like a toy, that she had seen on commercials!)

Her big gift from Santa was a set of baby doll accessories, including a pack-n-play, a play mat, a stroller (not that we needed another one), a bouncy chair, and a diaper bag. She loved it.

She then moved onto her stocking.

Inside was Play-doh (she desperately needed new ones, her old ones were all mixed together and looked like puke), some candy, Dora Band-aids and toothbrush. Guess what her favorite presents were from the whole day?!?! The Dora Band-aids and toothbrush. I knew it would be.

Evan eventually woke up and Avery explored his stocking for him. (Can't show pictures of him since I was holding him and my shirt was akwardly positioned, and revealing more than I would like to share on the blog! Thank you for not telling me sweet husband.) But here he is with Avery opening one of his presents, an inflatable penguin that plays music. He loves to maul it! Such a boy!

Avery opening a present. Dora flashcards!

Anything with Elmo or Dora she loves.

Avery just couldn't get enough of opening presents, hers, Evan's, Matt's, mine, Uncle Brian's, and Grandpa and Grandma's. She kept asking for more! I think she liked the present opening better than the presents themselves, probably like every other 2 1/2 year old.

Here we are at Grandpa and Grandma Suver's house. Evan snuck in a quick nap with Grandma before opening presents.

Of course, Evan had the help of his big sister (and Mommy) to open his present. The boy got two driving/steering wheel toys for Christmas. Good thing because he LOVES them, and I keep one upstairs and one downstairs to make my life easier. He loves to pound all the buttons with his fists, and sometimes he even looks like he is driving with one hand on the wheel and the other on the stick shift. Too cute!

Here is Avery opening the doll house from her grandparents. She did not care what was underneath the wrapping paper until every last piece of paper was off.

Still ignoring the picture of the doll house and concentrating on the paper only.

And I do mean every last piece.

"I know there is still a piece under there."
At this point she still had not acknowledged she had a doll house. This whole present unwrapping sums up the part of her personality that is very particular. She believes everything has an order it should be in, things must be categorized or matching, and things should not have a single piece of wrapping paper left on them.
Thank you everyone for all of your wonderful presents! We had a great Christmas being with all of you !!
